Mibelle AG Biochemistry has launched AquaCacteen, an ultra-refined cactus elixir for sensitive and dry skin. The pads of the cactus Opuntia are known as nopales and are used in Mexico as dietary supplement to promote weight loss and as medicine to treat inflammation and pain. The cosmetic ingredient AquaCacteen contains purified components of the Opuntia cactus which provide long-lasting hydration to skin, even in rinse-off applications.. AquaCacteen also has soothing properties which could be demonstrated in cell culture systems with nerve cells. The product was found to inhibit the depolarization of sensory nerve cells upon stress. It can also be used in sun care products and skin care products to soothe sensitive and dry skin, deeply hydrate, repair, regenerate and protect from environmental stress factors.
Octacare Shaves Closer
New research on Octacare F100 by Octel Performance Chemical, has revealed how it can provide significant product advantages for shaving gel and foam formulations by offering triple benefits to give a better shave and increase overall product performance. The high molecular weight, nonionic polymer reduces the tackiness of formulations while improving lubricity to minimize friction and improve blade action. It also supports greater water retention on the skin water. The result is a product that shaves better, provides smoother blade contact and leaves skin feeling moist and healthy. It is suggested that female-shaving formulations can particularly benefit from these qualities. Extensive tests have shown that only a small quantity, usually less than 1%, is needed to achieve an improvement in product performance. More info: www.octel-pc.com.
